Street theatre presentation of the play ‘Koi Jagah Khali Nahi’ attacking on unemployment and corruption is today’s society, was organized by the Bhojpuri department in the Old Campus of the Veer Kuer Singh University (VKSU). The play was presented by ‘Ekla Chalo Re’ theatre organization to mark the birth centenary of drama guru and litterateur Prof. Shyam Mohan Asthana and was highly appreciated by the students and teachers of the university.

ARA-------------------------Street theatre presentation of the play ‘Koi Jagah Khali Nahi’ attacking on unemployment and corruption is today’s society, was organized by the Bhojpuri department in the Old Campus of the Veer Kuer Singh University (VKSU). The play was presented by ‘Ekla Chalo Re’ theatre organization to mark the birth centenary of drama guru and litterateur Prof. Shyam Mohan Asthana and was highly appreciated by the students and teachers of the university.

The play is the story of an unemployed youth Lakshmi Shankar who despite being qualified and having a higher degree has to face many hurdles for a job and in the end the matter reaches Yamraj, lord of death and Lord Shiva. The play was written by Shyam Mohan Asthana and conceived by theatre artist Chandra Bhushan Pandey and directed by Hrithik Sundaram. Hrithik Mishra, Munshi Ji as body bearers, Lakshmi Shankar as dead person, and funeral procession in the play. Kunal Kumar was in the role of Sheetal Prasad and dead body. Kunal Kumar was Gokul Gulashan was in the role of Yamraj and the funeral procession, Sundaram Upadhayaya played the role of the main funera procession and Chandra Bhushan Pandey played the role of the chorus and funeral procession. All the actors of the play are students of the university.

Former Head of the Department of Bhojpuri, VKSU and Post Graduate in Dramatic Presentation, Prof. Ayodhyaya Prasad Upadhayaya, Prof. Ravindra Nath Rai. Prof. Neeraj Singh, Prof. Diwakar Pandey, Kaushalya Sharma, Dr. Ravi Shankar Singh, Jitendra Kumar, Janardan Mishra, PNB Pensioner Society Officer, Dinesh Kumar Tripathi, W Kumar, Sanjay Kumar, Rajesh Kumar, Saurabh Kumar, Anirudh Singh and teachers and students of different departments were present on the occasion.

After the drama presentation, the Bhojpuri Department, VKSU, felicitated all the artists and gave them corsets and certificates of appreciation. The role of Bhojpuri Student Union members and non-teaching staff of the department, Neelam Devi, Manoj Kumar and Uttam Tiwari in making the play a reality was highly commendable.
