SHOs ARA TOWN PS AND SC/ST PS SUSPENDED

Ara, 14 November 2022, (RNI): Shahabad DIG Kshtranil Singh suspended the Station House Officers (SHOs) Ara Town police station Anl Kumar Singh and SC/ST police station Shweta Poddan in connection with dereliction of duty and failure to control crime especially after the murder of JD(U) district vice-president’s nephew.

Some armed miscreants had shot dead a grocery merchant, Akash Patel of Sheetal Tola locality under Ara town police station, nephew of JD(U) district vice president Bheem Patel while shot at and injured Akash Patel’s father Amarjeet Patel in the late evening on November 12, 2022 when they were in their flour mill. The incident created ripples in the administration and people became agitated and protested against the police officers from Ara Sadar Hospital to road blaming them for the murder. The Shahabad DIG Kshtranil Singh reached Ara and after reviewing the situation suspended the SHO Ara town police station in connection with his failure to control crime and also dereliction of duty.

The DIG held meeting with the DSPs and all the Inspectors and directed them to control crime at any rate and got information regarding action against the miscreants under Arms Act.

Bhojpur SP Sanjay Kumar Singh said that after the incident, he formed police teams that are investigating the matter and also conducting raids to arrest miscreants. He said that the police teams have took three persons miscreants under custody for interrogation and added that the miscreants would be arrested at any cost.

Meanwhile, an FIR was lodged with the police under Ara town police station against six named and six unnamed persons on the statement of Amarjeet Patel father of the deceased. Amarjeet Patel said that he along with his son was working in his flour mill at Sheetal Tola under Ara town police station in the evening on November 12, 2022 when Vikki Yadav son of Lalan Yadav, Rahul Jaikar son of Yugal Pasi, Bilal Kamkar son of Santosh Kamkar, Godhan Yadav son of Baban Yadav and Shivam Rajput entered his flour mill and started thrashing them unprovoked saying that they would kill both father and son. When his son Akash Patel tried to admonish them, they started firing and pumped seven bullets into Akash Patel’s body killing him on spot and also pumped bullet into his body and injured them. Hearing the gun shots, family members rushed to the spot. The miscreants also threatened them with dire consequences and escaped from the scene. Amarjeet Patel also said that Mohit and Rohit were sitting in his grocery shop on November 10, 2022 and these miscreants fought with them. An FIR was lodged with the police under Ara town police station in this regard the same day but the police did not take action and at last Vikki Yadav, Rahul Yadav, Bilal Kamkar, Prabhat Kumar, Godhan Yadav and Shivam Rajpur along with six persons killed his son and also injured him for filling FIR against them.

The family members of the deceased blamed the SHO, SC/ST police station Shweta Poddar and said that she had come to their house with miscreants. They also blamed the SHO Ara town police station Anil Kumar Singh and said had the police taken action in time, the murder could not have taken place.
