SEPTUAGENARIAN COMMITS SUICIDE IN POLICE STATION. SHO SUSPENDED
One Septuagenarian committed suicide in the Koransarai police station campus of Dumraon Sub-Division in Buxar district under mysterious circumstances. Buxar SP suspended the Station House Officer (SHO) with immediate effect.
Buxar, 19 November 2022, (RNI): One Septuagenarian committed suicide in the Koransarai police station campus of Dumraon Sub-Division in Buxar district under mysterious circumstances. Buxar SP suspended the Station House Officer (SHO) with immediate effect.
Buxar SP Neeraj Kumar Singh said that the police arrested septuagenarian Yamuna Singh from Kopawa village under Koransarai police station in Buxar district in connection with rampageousness where he committed suicide in the computer room of the police station. As the news spread, the villagers became agitated and blocked the NH-120 near Kopawa bus stand and paralyzed movement of vehicles for about three hours. They raised slogans against the district administration and demanded immediate action the guilty. They blamed that the police tortured Yamuna Singh and also thrashed him badly so that he died but the police hanged the body to the ceiling to give colour of suicide. The police also brought the body to the Buxar Sadar Hospital for treatment merely to safeguard their skin and did not inform his family members. Dumaron SDPO Kumar Pankaj, BDO Santosh Kumar, CO Ankita Singh and other officials tried to persuade the agitating villagers to lift the blockage but they were adamant to call the SP. Later the Buxar SP Neeraj Kumar arrived at the spot and admonished the agitating villagers and assured legal action against the SHO. He said that he suspended the SHO and recommended departmental action against him. He added that a police team has been formed to inquire into the matter.
