One person was killed when a speeding vehicle dashed against a handcart near Tetaria Mor under Udwantnagar police station in the late evening on November 1, 2022.
Ara, 2 December 2022, (RNI): One person was killed when a speeding vehicle dashed against a handcart near Tetaria Mor under Udwantnagar police station in the late evening on November 1, 2022. The deceased was identified as Mahendra Mahato son of Bachan Mahato of Udwantnagar under the same police station. Irate villagers blocked the Ara-Sasaram-Ara-Jagdishpur main roads for about two hours and demanded compensation of Rs. 10 lakh for the family of the deceased and arrest of the driver of the vehicle. The blockade could be lifted after positive response of the police officer and the police brought the body to the Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem.
SHO Udwantnagar police station Shashibhushan said that Mahendra Mahato was returning to the gas agency after delivering gas cylinders to the consumers and when he reached near Tetaria Mor, a speeding vehicle dashed against the handcart killing the handcart driver on spot.
