NEWLY MARRIED WOMAN KILLED FOR DOWRY

Ara, 30 November 2022, (RNI): One newly married woman was killed at Madariya village under Charpokhari police station in Bhojpur district in the evening on November 29, 2022 allegedly merely for mobile and freeze. When the in-laws were preparing to perform her last rites, the family members and the police reached there. The police recovered the body and brought it to the Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem. An FIR has been lodged with the police under Charpokhari police station in this regard against the in-laws of the deceased including the husband. Police are investigating the matter and also conducting raids to arrest the miscreants. The deceased was identified as Khushboo Kumari 22 wife of Dhannu Kumar of Madariya village.

Quoting the FIR, the SHO Charpokhari police station, Nikunj Bhushan said that Khushboo Kumar was married to Dhannu of Madariya village under Charpokhari police station on February 16, 2022. Since her in-laws tortured her physically and mentally merely for a mobile, cooler and freeze and when their demands were not fulfilled, they killed her and later hanged her to the ceiling to give colour of suicide. They were trying to perform last rites without informing her family members. But her family members got information and reached the crematorium and even the police reached there. The SHO further said that the exact reason of murder might be said after the postmortem report received.
