Modi would bring peace deal between Russia and Ukraine: says Gudur
(Prashant Reddy)
Hyderabad (RNI) Bharatiya Janata Party state executive committee member Gudur Narayana Reddy on Saturday Aug 24,has emphatically stated that efforts of Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi to bring peace deal between Russia and Ukraine would fructify soon and the conflict between both the countries would end.
He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi as messiah of peace as he toured the war torn Ukraine on August 23 and in Russia last month carrying the message of peaceful settlement to the war.
In a media statement, he said that the tour of Prime Minister in Ukraine has taken the peace efforts a step ahead. The PM has also expressed his readiness to facilitate negotiations between both the countries.
Mr Reddy reminded that during his visit to Russia the PM stated that a solution to the Ukraine conflict is not possible on the battlefield and that peace talks do not succeed amidst bombs, guns and bullets.
“He has conveyed the same message to Volodymyr Zelenskyy during his visit to Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine,” Mr Narayana Reddy said. The Prime Minister has told the Ukraine president that India was in favour of peace, not on the side of any country which was engaged in a war.
The BJP leader said that India was always in favour of settlement of issues through discussions and never preferred war as an option. The Prime Minister reiterated the same stand during his tours to Ukraine and Russia.
He pointed out that ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine and attacks of Israel in Palestine have become threats to the world peace. If not handled properly they are potential enough to lead to another world war.
Mr Reddy said that already the two conflicts have cast a severe effect on the world by raising the inflation and apprehensions among people. The world could not afford to go for a third world war.
At this juncture the Prime Minister has taken a bold step to tour Ukraine which was under attack. The Prime Minister has dared the bullets and shelling and toured the war torn state, he added.
“With this tour Mr Narendra Modi has set an example to the leaders of the world. It would be better for the leaders of the world to express solidarity towards Ukraine and bring pressure on both the countries to settle the issues across the table,” he said.
He criticized the opposition INDIA leaders for finding fault with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s peace efforts. AICC president Mallikarjuna Kharge has likened the Kashmir issue with Ukraine and tried to lessen the importance of Mr Modi’s efforts, he said.
