KIDNAPPED ADVOCATE AND BUSINESSMAN KILLED, BODY RECOVERED
An advocate, Ara Civil Court and businessman, Dr Hari Ji 65 Gupta son of late Sita Ram Sah was killed after kidnapping. The police recovered the body from Kanhauli village in between Bihia-Shahpur under Shahpur police station in Bhojpur district today.
Ara, 5 November 2022, (RNI): An advocate, Ara Civil Court and businessman, Dr Hari Ji 65 Gupta son of late Sita Ram Sah was killed after kidnapping. The police recovered the body from Kanhauli village in between Bihia-Shahpur under Shahpur police station in Bhojpur district today. As the news of his death spread, the business community became aggressive and took out protest march under the ‘Bihar Vyavasayi Santh’ that passed through the main thoroughfares of the town. They also raised slogans against the police station. Dr Hari Ji Gupta was an advocate in the Ara Civil Court and also had five jewelry shops in Ara and also in Patna. Fear psychosis prevails among the businessmen following the incident.
Dr Hari Ji Gupta was kidnapped in the evening on November 2, 2022 though the police recovered the car used in his kidnapping from near Buxar railway station and a motorcycle from Bihia in Bhojpur. A named FIR was lodged with the police under Ara town police station against Amar, a motor parts shop owner, Amar, Raja son of Nazo Khatoon, Amar’s relative Ritesh of Rauza locality, Baua and Ranjan of Dharahara locality under Ara town police station on the statement of Uday Prakash Gupta, son of the kidnapped advocate.
Dr Hari Jee Gupta was kidnapped from near Market Complex at Baluahi under Ara town police station on Ara-Patna main road on November 2, 2022. He is owner of the complex. Bhojpur police detained Ritesh Kumar, a relative of his tenant and main accused Amar for interrogation. Police are conducting raids at different places including Bihia, Shahpur, Buxar in Bihar and also in Uttar Pradesh to recover the advocate and arrest the main accused. The police also took 10 men and women members of the named accused family under custody for interrogation.
Bhojpur SP Sanjay Kumar Singh said that Dr Hari Ji Gupta of Mahajan Toli No 1 under Ara town police station had gone to his Market Complex at Baluahi under Ara town police station in between Dhanupura and Dharahara on Ara-Patna main road in the evening on November 2, 2022 to collect rent and since he was missing. Tower location of his mobile was detected at Bihia and another mobile location was detected somewhere at Garhatha in Buxar district after that both the mobiles were switched off. He said that the police detained Rites, a relative of main accused Amar from Rauza locality and a youth Chitranjan from Buxar for interrogation. Both told the police that they had gone with him to Bihia Chaurasta and they returned from there.
The SP said that he himself is monitoring the whole investigation and he formed four police teams under the ASP Himanshu to recover the kidnapped advocate and arrest the kidnappers. He added that his renter and kidnapper had beaten him up with iron rod before kidnapping and took him towards Buxar in a car. Amar’s relative Ritesh also confessed that he had accompanied them till Bihia on Ara-Buxar SH-84. It also became clear from the technical research and the police are investigating the matter and also interrogating the arrested persons on this ground. The SP said that Hari Ji Gupta had hot discussion with his renter Amar on tent issue and after that he was missing. The Dog Squad was requisitioned and the sniff dogs searched the entire area round Bihia and then proceeded towards Buxar. A six member team of Forensic Science Laborary (FSL) also came that collected soils and other evidences from near Baluahi market and returned Patna.
The SP added that injured advocate was kidnapped and was taken towards Buxar and three persons including Amar and Baua took him in a luxury car to Buxar though the police recovered the car near the Buxar railway station and Amar is said to be the owner of the car.
Meanwhile, an emergent meeting of Ara Bar Association was convened under the presidentship of Rakesh Mishra, President, Ara Bar Association and 48 hours ultimatum was given to the Bhojpur SP Sanjay Kumar Singh for the recovery of the advocate.
In the meantime, leaders of CPI-ML visited the residence of the kidnapped advocate and demanded the Bhojpur police to arrest the kidnappers and recover the advocate without further delay.
