Kejriwal, Verma, and Dixit set for a fierce contest over New Delhi seat

New Delhi (RNI) As the Delhi Assembly elections draw closer, the picture is becoming clearer regarding the candidates.
In the most important seat, New Delhi, AAP chief and former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is set to face the sons of two former Chief Ministers: Mr. Pravesh Verma and Mr. Sandeep Dixit.
Mr. Verma, the son of former Chief Minister Sahib Singh Verma, and Mr. Dixit, the son of the late former Chief Minister Sheila Dixit, have both served as Members of Parliament from Delhi.
The BJP announced Mr. Verma's candidature for the New Delhi Assembly seat today. This constituency is currently represented in Parliament by Bansuri Swaraj, the daughter of the late Sushma Swaraj, a former Chief Minister of Delhi.
Former cricketer Kirti Azad was the BJP's first elected representative from the New Delhi Assembly seat in 1993. Subsequently, the late Sheila Dixit, who served as the Chief Minister of Delhi from 1998 onward, represented this seat for 15 years.
Since 2012, former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been representing the New Delhi Assembly seat. Mr. Kejriwal entered active politics through the Anna Hazare movement.( L.S)
