Jammu and Kashmir Rejects BJP: Sujada Bashir
Bashir highlights growing frustration among voters, particularly regarding the abrogation of Article 370. “Many did not expect this change, and it has caused a lot of distress. People feel that their identities are being undermined,” she explained. “Whether in Jammu or Kashmir, there’s a clear sentiment against the BJP.”
Srinagar/Jammu (RNI) — As exit polls indicate a tough road ahead for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the recent Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections, Sujada Bashir, State Spokesperson for the Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP), has shared her perspective on the political landscape.
The exit polls suggest that the Congress-National Conference alliance is poised to reclaim power, potentially winning around 46 seats in the 90-seat assembly, while the BJP is expected to secure about 28 seats. Bashir, however, questioned the reliability of these projections, stating, “I don't think the numbers are correct, but they might be right in showing that no one in J&K will let the BJP form the government.”
With results set to be announced on October 8, Bashir believes this election could shape the future of governance in the region. “It’s about more than just numbers; it’s about the rights and voices of the people,” she stated.
As sentiments shift, the DPAP aims to emerge as a significant player in the region's political discourse, advocating for the people's voices and concerns.
