Indira Gandhi imposed EMERGENCY dark days nation never forget: Sridhar Reddy

Hyderabad (RNI) BJP Kisan Morcha State President Kondapally Sridhar Reddy commented that no matter how many years pass, the nation of India will not forgive the consequences of the emergency imposed by the Congress government under the leadership of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.  

In a meeting held at the BJP camp office on Khammam Rural Warangal Cross Road as a part of the activities organized by the BJP national party called Black Day of Democracy, he said that due to the arrogant decision of Indira Gandhi, thousands of democratic activists and nationalists were subjected to illegal arrests and jailed across the country.  He alleged that many nationalists and democrats were subjected to violence due to the emergency imposed by the then Congress government. Sridhar Reddy commented that the nationalists and democrats who fought against the emergency imposed by the Congress government for conservation are an inspiration to today's generation.  

Sridhar Reddy stated that Darapuneni Koteswara Rao was in Warangal Central Jail for 18 months because of many illegal arrests of Janasang RSS workers from the joint Khammam district.  Duddukuri Venkateswara Rao and Srinivasa Sharma Sankaram Babu, the senior BJP leaders who were illegally arrested during Emergency from the joint Khammam district and who were imprisoned during the emergency, participated in this meeting and recalled their experiences in jail because of their opposition to the Emergency in the joint Khammam district.  They claimed that the Congress government took satanic pleasure by undermining democracy and illegally arresting nationalists and democrats and illegally arresting nationalists and democrats during the Emergency.  They said that Congress along with thuggish gangs would spew poison on the Modi government, taking the emergency as a lesson, they suggested that the nationalists and democrats should always be vigilant. After that, Duddukuri Venkateswara Rao alias Srinivasa Sharma Sankaram Babu, who was jailed during the emergency, was honored by the BJP leaders and activists.
