India to host JKA India 50 year celebration and Prestigious Invitational International Karate Tournament 2025 at Hyderabad
Japan Karate Association of India (JKAI) announces that India is to host the prestigious Invitational International Karate Tournament 2025 at Hyderabad, Telangana.
HYDERABAD, MAR 22 (RNI) Japan Karate Association of India (JKAI) announces that India is to host the prestigious Invitational International Karate Tournament 2025 at Hyderabad, Telangana.
The tournament will be held at Gachibowli Indoor Stadium from 18 to 22 January 2025 in Hyderabad.
Over 3000 participants from across the world are to participate in the same.
The event is supported by Shihan Anand Ratna, JKA India and organised and hosted by JKAI Telangana State under the watchful eyes of Sensei Rapolu Sudhershan, Chief Instructor JKAI TS and Sensei Dayanand Kumar, Chief Instructor JKAI TS JKAI also announced three tournaments 42 JKA India National Karate Tournament 2025. 17 All India JKAI Kyu level Karate Tournament 2025, 12 Sasaki, Shoichi, Memorial seniors National Karate Tournament 2025. JKAI is thankful to event sponsors viz., Path Finders Private Limited Company along with Shri Ravindra and team.
A press meet was held in the JKA Telangana Honbu Doje to brief on the competition. Sensai Rapolu Sudarshan and Sensai Dayanand Kumar, Chief Instructors, JKAI, Telangana State.
Seventh Dari KAI Sensei said "This competition is being held for the first time in India in the history of JKA India. I hope this competition will bring more exposure to Karate which brings excellence through self discipline to its practitioners."
Selections for the Kata (Form) and Kumite (Sparring) participation will start in soon and will be selected for special training practices at JKA Telangana Honbu Dojo (meaning a central training facility and administrative headquarters) situated at Gachibowli Gandipet.
Mr. Ravinder is sponsoring for five elgible participants to participate for this event in international tournament in Kata and Kumite. He is also sponsoring the visit of both Chief Instructors in October 2024 to Japan Honbu Dojo for a Special Training camp.
Karate has gained prominence in India especially for self protection. Japan Karate Association has played a pivotal role in promoting Karate in India in a professional way.
The first JKA India Branch at the Dadar Dojo in Mumbai in the 70s and was affiliated in 1976. At the time of affiliation the Indian Branch consisted of only I dojo in Bombay at Dadar. Today the JKA India has spanned the entire country with Branches in 21 states,
Shihan Anand Ratna is the man responsible for bringing the JKA to India in the 70s. In 2007 he merited his A Instructor Licence. He is amongst the very few non Japanese 7th Degree Black Belt of the JKA. In 2012, he became the first non Japanese in the world to merit the JKA's Special Rights Examiner's Licence to conduct Exams for both Technical Licences and Dan Exams. In April 2023 he was inducted into the Shihankai of the JKA, thereby becoming the first non Japanese Asian to be inducted as a member of this prestigious body.
