HUSBAND AND WIFE COMMITTED SUICIDE

Sasaram, 16 December 2022, (RNI): One person and his wife consumed poison and committed suicide at Beladhi village under Kachchhawa police station in Rohtas district over a trivial dispute. Later the police brought the body to the Sasaram Sadar Hospital for postmortem. The deceased were identified as Shashikant Mahato 30 and his wife Priyanka Devi 28 of Beladhi village. An FIR was lodged with the police under Kachchhawa police station. Police are investigating the matter.

SHO Kachchhawa police station Birendra Kumar Singh said that Shashikant Mahato of Beladhi village under Kachchhawa police station in Rohtas district was married to Priya Devi of Bagand village under Madanpur police station in Aurangabad district in the year 2018 but they had no issue with the marriage. Shashikant Mahato ran a cloth shop at Japala in Jharkhand. His financial position was very critical and was in debt. Ranjeet Mahato and Priya Devi had returned Beladhi village a day ago and had hot discussion and quarrel. After the quarrel, Priya Devi consumed poison and seeing her deteriorating condition Ranjeet Mahato also consumed poison and both died on spot.
