Harsimrat K Badal asks CM not to indulge in “Tamasha” of providing world class health services where none existed on the ground
Visits family of two brothers who lost their lives after they were denied medical assistance from the Mansa civil hospital
Mansa (RNI) [Jeevan Gupta/Parveen Kumar] Former union minister and Bathinda MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal today condemned chief minister Bhagwant Mann for doing a “Tamasha” of bringing world class medial facilities to Punjab even as two young brothers of this constituency died due to denial of medical aid by the civil hospital.
The Bathinda MP also visited the family whose only two sons died after they had to be taken to Ludhiana because there was not a single doctor in the Mansa civil hospital or any medicine or medical aid. She also talked to the deputy commissioner and demanded appropriate action in the matter, saying it was shocking that no doctor was present in the hospital when the boys were brought there with serious injuries following an accident.
Mrs Badal said the two young boys had to be taken to Ludhiana where the parents were forced to take help of a person from a chemist shop to perform stitches on their heads. “They succumbed shortly later”.
Asserting that the chief minister and his boss Arvind Kejriwal had a lot to answer for, Mrs Badal said “dramas are done regularly to give the impression that health services have improved dramatically in Punjab be it repainting of Sewa Kendras to turn them into AAP Clinics or refurbishing one ward of the Mata Kaushalya hospital in Patiala and spending crores to seek publicity for the same”.
She said the real state of health facilities in Punjab under AAP tenure could be gauged from what happened at the Mansa civil hospital when the two severely injured boys were taken there. “This is the state of health services in Punjab not only in Mansa from where the former health minister is a legislator but also across the State. There is a shortage of doctors and nursing staff even as simple medicines and things like injection needles and syringes are not in stock”.
Mrs Badal also requested the chief minister to take immediate corrective steps to prevent further loss of life.
