Hyderabad (RNI) BRS senior leader Prof Dasoju shravan asserted that .Universities need academicians, not bureaucrats, even as in-charges.He questioned Why not appoint existing registrars or senior professors or deans as in-charge VCs or allow current VCs to continue until suitable professors are shortlisted and identified as new VCs by search committees?
The BRS leader cautioned that Appointing IAS officers as in-charge VCs is a disastrous decision for higher education! Their bureaucratic and bossiest approach in general stifles academic autonomy, demoralizes faculty, and disrupts research stoics. No society can truly progress if it makes its teachers subservient to anyone including to IAS officers or Politicians. He lashes out Telangana govt unilateral decissions on University education system.
