DANCER AND SINGER SHOT AT, INJURED

Ara, 16 November 2022, (RNI): Some unidentified armed miscreants shot at and injured a dancer and a singer near Janayidih village under Sandesh police station in Bhojpur district in the wee hour today when they were returning a birthday party. Both were admitted to the Ara Sadar Hospital but the doctors referred them to the Patna Medical College and Hospital after first aid. The injured were identified as Ninu Behara, a dancer from Bhuwaneshwar in Odhisa and Mukesh Yadav, a singer of Baharampur under Dhanrua police station in Patna district. An FIR was lodged with the police under Sandesh police station in this regard. Police are investigating the matter and also conducting raids to arrest the miscreants. Reason behind the incident is still to be ascertained. Police arrested five persons in this regard including a tent owner, Nitu Devi and Panchayat Samiti Member who had concealed the fact.

Ninu Behara said at the Ara Sadar Hospital that she had gone to the birthday party of the son of a Panchayat Samiti member at Salempur village under Sandesh police station for performing dance and Mukesh Yadav had followed her for singing. She said that some persons in drunken state and arms in their hands, came on the state and started dancing with her and also called her down from the stage but she had protested their gesture.

She added that after the party, she and Mukesh Yadav were returning Sandesh but some unidentified armed miscreants intercepted and fired and injured them. They informed the birthday party organizers about the incident on mobile. On information they rushed to the spot and admitted them to the Ara Sadar Hospital.

On the other hand, Ranveer Sao, husband of the Ahapura Panchayat Samiti member, said that birthday party of his son Aryan Kumar was organized and he had invited Ninu Behara and Mukesh Yadav for dancing and singing. He requested them to stay till night but they refused and so he paid the money and sent them off.
