BJP’s Gudur says CM should follow the rule book strictly to uphold the dignity of the government in the state
Hyderabad, January 10: Bharatiya Janata Party state senior leader Gudur Narayana Reddy on Tuesday stated that the judgment of the High Court on chief secretary Somesh Kumar’s cadre issue was an indignity to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao and to the state government.
In a media statement, he said that at least now the Chief Minister must desist from mocking the Constitution and statutes. He said that the CM should follow the rule book strictly to uphold the dignity of the government in the state.
He said that the judgment of the High Court was a slap on the face for chief secretary Somesh Kumar who has been hanging on to Telangana cadre with the blessings of the Chief Minister. “I advice Somesh Kumar to go back to his original allotted cadre, Andhra Pradesh, without going for the appeals in the court,” Narayana Reddy said.
He stated that Somesh Kumar has been continuing in the Telangana Cadre though he has been allotted to Andhra Pradesh during the bifurcation of erstwhile combined Andhra Pradesh. However, he did not go to AP and continued in services of Telangana. Even though the Centre has been insisting that he should go to AP, he did not care.
The BJP leader said that Bharatiya Janata Party has been crying foul about the continuation of Somesh Kumar in the state service as it would dent the morale of the officials of Telangana cadre. He said that by appeasing the CM, the CS was able to continue in the state.
In scathing remarks Narayana Reddy said that the Chief Minister has been pampering officials like Somesh Kumar, who have handicaps, to his advantage and indulging in corrupt activities.
“Similarly the Chief Minister has been appointing retired IAS and IPS officers as advisers to serve his own purposes. The advisers should relinquish their offices on their own to honor the rule of law in the state,” Narayana Reddy said.
He said that instead of accepting the adviser posts, the retired AIS officers could join the corporate companies which offer big financial packages.
He said that due to the uncanny ways of the Chief Minister, the state has become a safe haven for the corrupt officials. Few officials have amassed huge wealth and doing injustice to their responsibilities.
Narayana Reddy said that the most of the AIS officers of the state have forgotten their constitutional responsibilities and working only for the well being of the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi.
He alleged that many senior AIS officials of the state were not appointed to focal posts and they have been venting their ire openly. He said that officials who are close to the CS were given plum departments.
