BHOJPUR POLICE ARREST HARDCORE CRIMINAL WITH FIREARMS

Ara, 26 November 2022, (RNI): Bhojpur police, acting on a tip off, arrested a hardcore criminal from Chaudhariyana under Ara town police station red handed while hatching plan to commit crime along with his aides. The police also seized a country made pistol, two live cartridges of .315 caliber and two mobiles from him. The arrested miscreant was identified as Md Belal son of Md Nezamuddin of Abarpur locality under Ara town police station. He was wanted in connection with demanding extortion, under Arms Act and firing on a leader of Shiv Sena and others.

ASP Himanshu said that the police got information that some armed miscreants were hatching plan to commit crime near Chaudhriyana Mosque under Ara town police station. At the direction of Bhojpur SP Sanjay Kumar Singh, a police team under the leadership of the SHO Ara town police team Avinash Kumar conducted raid and arrested Md Belal with firearms.

The ASP said that the police heaved a sigh of relief with the arrest of Md Belal who has become a headache for the police. He said that Md Belal was arrested and sent to jail in March this year and had come out of jail on bail about four months ago and involved in criminal activities. He committed three crimes including firing and demanding extortion within three months. The ASP further said that he had fired on a Shiv Sena leader Shambhu Singh at Bichali Road about 50 meter from the Ara town police station in August this year and on October 16, 2022, he had demanded extortion of Rs. 4.5 lakh from a businessman with threat of dire consequences. A named FIR was lodged with the police under Ara town police station against him in this regard. Besides, a named FIR was lodged against him with the police under Tarari police station on October 25, 2022 but he was absconding in all the three matters.

The ASP stated that Md Belal had a criminal history. About a dozen criminal cases including seven of extortion were pending against him under the Ara town police station and on under Tarari police station. He was awarded life imprisonment in connection with a murder under Ara town police station area.
