New Delhi (RNI) The country's well-known senior ophthalmologist and head of the Department of Ophthalmology at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, Padma Shri Prof. (Dr.) J. S. Titiyal examined the eyes of senior journalist Dr. Samrendra Pathak and advised surgery today.
Dr. Pathak, Executive President of the SAARC Journalist Forum, has been suffering from eye problems for some time and his eye surgery will be done next week.
Earlier, senior ophthalmologist Dr. Rajesh Ranjan had examined Dr. Pathak's eyes. Vasundhara Hospital chief and well-known senior physician Dr. Girjesh Rastogi had examined his heart, liver, kidney, blood pressure etc.
It is noteworthy that Dr. Titiyal was honoured by the Government of India, in 2014, by bestowing on him the Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award, for his services to the field of medicine. He has successfully operated the eyes of many prominent personalities of the country including Tibetan religious leader Dalai Lama, Ex. Prime Minister Dr. Manmoham Singh and many others using laser technology. L.S.
