YOUTH COMMITS SUICIDE

Ara, 1 June 2023, (RNI): One student committed suicide by slitting his hand and throat inside bathroom of his house at Pakadi locality under Nawada police station in the night on May 31, 2023. The deceased was identified as Uttam Kumar 24 son of late Pradeep Kumar Gupta of Pakadi locality under Nawada police station. Later the police brought the body to the Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem. Reason behind the incident is still to be ascertained. Police are investigating the matter.

Anil Kumar, uncle of the deceased said that Uttam Kumar was a graduate student and was preparing for competitive examination and so he was suffering from depression. His father had died 20 years ago. He further said that his mother had gone to a temple in the evening on May 31, 2023. Meanwhile, Uttam Kumar locked him in the bathroom of his house and committed suicide by slitting his hand and throat. When his mother returned home, she saw blood flowing from outside the bathroom. She raised alarm. Hearing her cry the family members and the neighbour rushed to the spot and broke open the door of the bathroom and saw that Uttam Kumar was lying in the pool of blood. They rushed him to the Ara Sadar Hospital declared brought dead. On information, the police arrived at the Ara Sadar Hospital and recovered the body and got the postmortem done at the Ara Sadar Hospital.
