--One woman was killed while her son was injured when a speeding truck crushed them at Chandi Bazaar under Chandi police station in Bhojpur district. The driver escaped with the truck after the incident but the police chased and seized the truck with the driver from Kulharia overbridge.

ARA-------------------------One woman was killed while her son was injured when a speeding truck crushed them at Chandi Bazaar under Chandi police station in Bhojpur district. The driver escaped with the truck after the incident but the police chased and seized the truck with the driver from Kulharia overbridge. The deceased was identified as Archana Kuer wife of late Sanjay Prasad of Sandesh village under the same police station and the injured was identified as Rahul Kumar son of the deceased. As the news spread, the villagers and the family members of the deceased blocked the Sakaddi-Nasariganj main road and paralyzed movement of vehicles. They burnt tyres on road and raised slogans against the district administration. When they did not find any police personnel at the incident site, they became agitated and reached the Chandi police station and gheraoed the police station. Meanwhile, some anti-social elements present in the mob, chased the police personnel on duty at the police station who somehow rescued themselves in the mustard field. Some police personnel were also injured. The agitating people also blocked the Chandi Chowk. Later Gorakha battalion and police from Sandesh police station and Koelwar police station were requisitioned and the agitating people could be persuaded and the blockade could be lifted and the movement of vehicle could be restored.The police recovered the body and brought it to the Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem and admitted the injured there. The fear stricken shopkeepers downed their shutters the whole day.
Family members of the deceased said that Rahul Kumar of Sandesh, proprietor of the Kumar Medical Hall at Sandesh was going to Bihata along with his mother Archana Kuer on a motorcycle when a speeding vehicle loaded with sand, in its bid to overtake another vehicle dashed the vehicle. As the vehicle dashed, the motorcycle caved into another vehicle parked on the roadside while Archana Kuer fell to the ground on other side of the road. Meanwhile, a speeding truck crushed Archana Kuer to death and the driver escaped with the truck but the police chased and caught the truck with driver from Kulharia Overbridge.
