WHEAT CROP IS TO BE PLANTED IN 1 LAKH 2554 HECTARES OF LAND IN BHOJPUR DISTRICT
In order to improve the wheat production in the current Rabi season in Bhojpur district, the Agriculture Department has made available 1635 quintal of good variety of wheat seeds under the Seed Distribution and Pratyaksha Programme under various schees for providing wheat seeds to the farmers which will help in Bhojpur district. A target has been set to cultivate wheat in about one lakh thousand acres. This season, the Agriculture Department has set a target of planting wheat crop in one lakh 2554 hectares of land maximum of which is in 15649 hectares of land in Jagdishpur block in Bhojpur district. It was estimated that wheat crop would be planted.

It may be noted that this time, in order to ensure good wheat production, the Agriculture Department is making wheat seed of improved quality available to the farmers in all the blocks of Bhojpur district at subsidized rates so that good yield of wheat can be obtained.
It is noteworthy that in Bhojpur district where wheat crop is grown in 1lakh 2554 hectares of land. A target has been set in which wheat crop will be planted in 5806 hectares of land in Agiaw block while a target has been set to plant wheat crop in 7503 hectares of land in Ara block. Similarly wheat crop will be planted in 7999 hectares of land in Badahara block, 5690 hectares of land in Bihia block, 6127 hectares of land in Charpokhari block, 6015 hectares of land in Gadhani block, 15649 hectares of land in Jagdishpur block, 6370 hectares of land in Koilwar block, 8900 hectares of land in Piro block, 5349 hectares of land in Sahar block, 5281 hectares of land in Sandesh block, 7617 hectares of land in Shahpur block, 7770 hectares of land in Tarari block and 6478 hectars of land in Udwantnagar block of Bhojpur district.
District Agriculture Officer Shatrughan Sahu said that a target has been set to plant wheat crop in one lakh 2554 hectares of land in Rabi season this year in Bhojpur district. He added that for good yield of wheat, improved variety of seeds are distributed among the farmers at affordable rates.
