A promising person from the land of Bhojpur has shown his talent, Anand Kumar, a debutant in the directorial field has made web-series named ‘Aravaan’ whose content is out of box. Anand Kumar, a resident of Jagdishpur in Bhojpur district of Bihar, the land of bravery of brave Babu Kuer Singh, freedom fighter of the First War of Independence in the year 1857, has the same enthusiasm about his dreams and work because this is the specialty of that soil which makes one passionate. Coming out of this small village, Anand Kumar reached Mumbai about a decade ago to fulfill his dream and worked as editing supervisor for Disney Star Network and after gaining a decade experience he decided to take up direction. In the flight of imagination, some creative friends came together and after writing of scripts, making of the web series started and this reminds few lines of a famous ‘Shayari’ of famous Urdu poet, Mazrooh Sultanpuri, “Dear ones, we were walking alone towards our destination, people kept meeting us and the caravan was formed.” Be it a film or a web series, first of all money is needed to make it and this is where the dreams come crashing down. But Anand Kumar and his associates were technically strong and so instead of star cast and huge expenses of Mumbai, they chose their area and the people here.
The entire shooting of Aravaan took place in Bhojpur district. What is commendable is that from artists to technicians, all the locals are involved in it and it may be said that it is a small attempt to create industry on our own soil and district at par with the film industry in Mumbai and it means a director daring to kame local vocal in his first work is no less than an indomitable will power.
When you try to do any whole heartedly, nature supports and in this effort, Praveen Kumar and Saday Kumar, residents of Godhana, Ara who have already set n example by providing employment to many local people, joined the team as producers.
The creative producer of this web series is a renowned stage artist O P Leena Pandey who needs no introduction. His journey from theatre to Media and then to film industry is no less than a film story of his struggle. Pandey has put his experience in this web series. At the creative level in all three departments, pre-production, production and post-production, O P Pandey has made a name for himself by doing big film serials on television and Bollywood. His creativity is visible in the ‘Aravaan’ web series.
The script writer of this web series O P Kashyap, a resident of Ara, has made his special identity in Bollywood through his writing and acting. People are all praise for his web script. The author has revealed the secrets of eunuchs which the eunuchs themselves do not know.
The lead role in this web series is played by Sweta Sagar of Bihar and she mesmerized the people with her acting so much that they started calling her ‘Junior Aishwarya.’ Aravaan is the first web series for Bollywood fame Surjit Singh Rajput who had acted in the silver screen and played the character of M S Dhoni in the film. He has played the character of Aravaan and left a mark of his high quality acting in the web series also. Shooting of the web series took place at local level that provided work to the local artists and gave chance to institutions or people related to art, light, sound and many other things used every day to join the project. Chandan Kumar, Arvind Raja, Shiva and Rakesh Patel handled the production well. To make local vocal, Anand Kumar and the people associated with the team did their job very well by releasing the web series on the platforms like Hungama. The first episode of this web series became very much popular and people are all praise for it.
The producer of this Web Series, O P Pandey said about the web series in brief and added that this web series is based on Aravaan, son of Arjun of Mahabharat who is the God of eunuchs. The reason as to how he became a god, how Lord Krishna took the form of Mohini and married him, why did Aravaan have to sacrifice himself for his own father, Arjun is hidden in the womb of the web series and the mystery will be revealed after watching it. Pandey said that this web series is taking the lead from all these mysteries revolve around a village where the increase of lineage in the village has become a curse. The villagers are worried that their village will now become human-less. A eunuch had cursed the village that no one can celebrate his or her nuptial night in the village. When a young man of the village who lived at remote place, married and reached his village to fulfill the wishes of his mother, mountain of trouble begins. Whether he saves the village or not, will be clear in the web series. But by becoming the god of the eunuchs, Aravaan definitely takes the risk of saving the village. A mixed form of comedy with mystery, thrill and horror will certainly spellbound the audience throughout the web series and also provides a glimpse of the story.
