Union Minister for Energy, New and Renewable Energy cum local MP Raj Kumar Singh laid foundation stone for the construction of Martyr’s Memorial with the estimated cost of Rs. 25.30 lakh and reconstruction of the Saanskritik Bhawan with the estimated cost of Rs. 3.88 crore in Ara under the Corporate Social Responsibility of National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) with the estimated cost of Rs. 25.30 lakh. The Ara Power Grid has been assigned the task of construction and reconstruction work. Later a meeting was organized at Veer Kuer Singh Stadium. Besides, R K Singh also inaugurated the badminton court on the campus of Ara club

Ara: Union Minister for Energy, New and Renewable Energy cum local MP Raj Kumar Singh laid foundation stone for the construction of Martyr’s Memorial with the estimated cost of Rs. 25.30 lakh and reconstruction of the Saanskritik Bhawan with the estimated cost of Rs. 3.88 crore in Ara under the Corporate Social Responsibility of National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) with the estimated cost of Rs. 25.30 lakh. The Ara Power Grid has been assigned the task of construction and reconstruction work. Later a meeting was organized at Veer Kuer Singh Stadium. Besides, R K Singh also inaugurated the badminton court on the campus of Ara club.

Addressing the gathering, R K Singh said that Ara has always been the land of heroes and its people have always sacrificed everything to protect their independence and nationalism and Babu Kuer Singh, freedom fighter of the fiest war of Independence 1857 was such a fighter who defeated the British thrice. He said that this Martyr Memorial is a true tribute to our brave soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice while serving the nation. He stated that Ara is the land of Babu Kuer Singh and this Memorial will become symbol of our soldiers’ bravery, sacrifice, courage and determination in history and added be it Raman Maidan, Sanskritik Bhawan, Clock Tower, the design has been decided after taking the opinion of the intellectual class of the town and all these designs are made by architect. The design of the Martyr Memorial is very beautiful, said he and added that the development of Ara has been of paramount importance for him and a plan worth about Rs. 103 crore for its development is ready which will contribute significantly to the beautification and development of Ara.

He stated that till now, he has given schemes in 1063 villages from the MPLAD fund and CSR fund out of which the schemes in 817 villages have been completed, 173 schemes are under construction and 188 schemes are new and thus total number of scheme is 1178 and added that so far all the MPs have not done one fourth work of this. Apart from this, many historical works like Koelwar six lane bridge, four lanes roads around the Bhojpur district, medical college, engineering college, beautification of Ara railway station, stoppage of dozens of trains at the Ara railway station, starting of new trains from the Ara railway station etc have been done and will continue to be done in future.

NTPC spokesperson Vishwanath Chandan said that under the Corporate Social Responsibility of NTPC, the construction work of the Martyr Memorial is being started from today in Bhojpur district on the campus of the District Sainik Welfare Office with the estimated cost of Rs. 25.30 lakh on the demand of the locals for the protection of sovereignty of the country and also for the soldiers who fought to protect sovereignty of the mother land. Besides, he said that under the Corporate Social Responsibility of Power Grid, the renovation work of Sanskritik Bhawan at Ara has been started with the estimated cost of Rs. 3.88 crore.

MLA, Badahara, Raghwendra Pratap Singh, MLC, Awadhesh Narayan Singh, Mayor, Ara Municipal Corporation Indu Devi, Bhojpur DM Raj Kumar also spoke on the occasion.

BJP District President, Durga Raj, Bhojpur SP Pramod Kumar Yadav, Regional Pro-tem Director, NTPC, DSGSS Baba Jee, Director Power Grid (Commercial) Dr Yatindra Dwiwedi, General Manager (Human Resource) NTPC, Samiran Sinha Ray, Dhirendra Singh, Uday Pratap Singh, Kaushal Yadav, Satish Bhatt, Vandana Rajvanshi, Vijay Singh, Rakesh Singh and other activists of the BJP and officials of the NTPC and Power Grid were present on the occasion.
