ULTRASOUND REPORT SHOWED 9.9MM STONE IN THE GALL BLADDER THOUGH THE GALL BLADDER HAD NOT STONE AT ALL
At the direction of State Health Department and by the order of the District Magistrates, a team of medical officers and officials of the district administration are checking the Ultrasound centres in Bihar which have emerged like mushroom in different places in almost all the districts of Bihar. Most of Ultrasound centres do not have doctors or their certificates are fake or their licenses are cancelled. Despite they are operating and doing rousing business right under the nose of the officials and too with the support of doctors. The doctors prescribe medicines on the fake report of these Ultrasound centres merely to extract money from the patients at the cost of their lives. A case of Meena Devi of Bakara village of Dinara block in Rohtas district is a glaring example of such connivance of hand in glove activities of the doctors and Ultrasound Centres.
Sasaram, 1 June 2023, (RNI): At the direction of State Health Department and by the order of the District Magistrates, a team of medical officers and officials of the district administration are checking the Ultrasound centres in Bihar which have emerged like mushroom in different places in almost all the districts of Bihar.
Meena Devi of Bakaara village of Dinara block in Rohtas district was admitted to the private clinic of Dr Vinay Kumar after she complained stomachache on May 21, 2023. She was advised Ultrasound at the Reshmi Ultrasound Centre near the gate of government hospital and the Ultrasound centre found 9.9mm stones in her gall bladder in this report. The doctor relied on the report and advised some medicines. She again came to the same clinic on May 29, 2023 and she was again advised Ultrasound in the same Ultrasound centre. This time, the Ultrasound repost showed that she had only 9.5 mm stones in the gall bladder. The family members smelt rat and they took her and admitted her to a private clinic of Dr Alam at Sasaram. Dr Alam referred her to the Raj Imaging Ultrasound Centre and the report was surprising as she had not stone in the gall bladder. The doctor advised her to go home.
Civil Surgeon, Sasaram Dr K.N.Tiwari said that it was a matter of great concern that the Ultrasound Centres are running and their reports are being made public with impunity despite raids. He said that inquiry would be done at the Reshmi Ultrasound Centre at Dinara and even the doctor who was not serious and did not take the Ultrasound report seriously. He added that hence surprise raids would be conducted at the Ultrasound centres.
