TWO YOUTHS KILLED, ONE INJURED

Ara (RNI) Two youths were killed while one injured when a speeding truck dashed their motorcycle near a petrol pump on Bihita State Highway 102 at Bihia in Bhojpur district in the night on March 14, 2024. The deceased were identified as Akash Kumar 17 and a student of Class IX and son of Umashankar Singh of Kewatiya village under Bahoranpur police outpost and Gurudev Paswan 18, a student of BA Part II and son of Tulsi Paswan of Dumaria village under Shahpur police station in Bhojpur district. The injured is also said to be a resident of Shahpur. As the news spread, the villagers became agitated and blocked the road with the bodies of the deceased and paralyzed movement of vehicles. They raised slogans against the Bhojpur district administration and demanded compensation for the families of the deceased and arrest of the driver of the truck. The blockade could be lifted after positive response of the police officers. Later the police recovered the bodies and brought them to the Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem. The police had earlier admitted the injured there. 

Family members of a deceased Guudev Paswan said that he along with his friends Akash Kumar and a friend had gone to Panchavati locality at Bihia under Bihia police station to attend birthday party of his maternal brother in the late evening on March 14, 2024. When they were returning late night on a motorcycle, a speeding vehicle collided head-on with the motorcycle killing Gurudev Paswan and Akash Kumar on spot and injured other friend.
