TWO PRIVATE HOSPITALS SEALED, LADY DOCTOR ARRESTED

Sasaram, 25 May 2023, (RNI): A team of health department and Rohtas district administration conducted raid at two private clinics including the the Janata Hospital near Godari CHC under Karakat police station in Rohtas district and sealed the Ultrasound room, Operation theatre and the hospital too and also seized register and slips and other objectionable articles. As the team reached the hospital, the doctor Raj Deo Kumar Singh fled away from the hospital leaving the hapless patients behind.

One Varsha Kumari of Dhodhandiha village said that she had come to a government hospital for delivery but she was referred to the Bikramganj Referral Hospital after she complained stomachache. She said that the on duty ANM and a Asha worker Renu Kumari admitted her to the Janata Hospital where Dr Raj Deo Singh operated on her after realizing Rs. 20,000. She said that the paper showing refer was not given to her but directly she was admitted to the Janata Hospital.

Yasmin Khatoon of Rampur Bharheta village, admitted in the Janata Hospital said that she had pain in her uterus and so she came to the government hospital but the doctor there sent her to the Janata Hospital where Dr Raj Deo Singh took Rs. 7500 from her and fixed the date of operation on May 24, 2023 in the afternoon but the doctor and other staffs fled away from the hospital after the raid.

The team of health department and district administration also raided the Raj Hospital in front of CHC Karakat arrested a lady doctor Sita Kumari and sealed the Raj Hospital.

CHC medical officer-in-charge, Dr Rajiv Kumar said that Sita Kumari is a quack lady doctor and is involved in delivery and abortion. He said that the raiding team returned first time and the doctor and employees became relaxed thinking that the team would not come but the raiding team abruptly raided second time and arrested the lady doctor Sita Kumari and handed her over to police. The patients who were admitted there, were brought to the government hospital where they are undergoing treatment. A named FIR has been lodged with the police against Dr Sita Kumari.

As the news of raids at the private hospitals, doctors and nursing staffs who ran illegal hospitals on fake medical degrees, down the shutters of their clinic and also tore the banners and posters of the clinics.

Reportedly, doctors and staffs of private nursing homes are hands in glove and their clinics flourish with their helps. Quacks on fake medical degrees are doing rousing business opening hospitals and nursing home for the last six years with the connivance of concerned officials where they do abortion and delivery and the government hospital paramedical staffs get their commission in lieu of sending patients to their clinics from the government hospital.

An officer said that until the District Magistrate and Civil Surgeon ordered or directed, no action is taken against these illegal private clinics.
