ARA--------------------------The entire robbery at the Tanishq Showroom near Gopali Chowk under Ara town police station was hatched by notorious criminals Sheru Singh of Buxar and Chandan alias Prince of Vaishali lodged in Purulia jail in West Bengal, said the ADG Kundan Krishnan and the STF SP Sanjay Kumar Singh.

Notorious gangsters and criminals languishing in jails first mislead some youngsters by luring them with a life of luxury and money. After that, they are continuously carrying out big crimes like gold and bank robbery through them. For this, the help of already trained criminals is also being taken. In the Tanishq showroom robbery case, more than one and half a dozen criminals were hired on the same lines by Sheru Singh and Chandan alias Prince. Both are languishing in jails.

The ADG and the STF SP said that the entire conspiracy of robbery was hatched by notorious criminals Sheru Singh of Buxar and Chandan alias Prince of Vaishali who are lodged in jails. The planning was finalized by establishing contact with Chunmun Jha, a resident of Araria from the jail. Local criminals from Vaishali and other places were hired through Chunmun Jha. Some boys from Bhojpur were set up who were used to help the criminals involved in the robbery from arranging their stay to doing recce. Some devices were also recovered from Sheru Singh and Chandan alias Prince. Evidence of their involvement in the crime has also been found from them.

The ADG said that both the criminals lodged in jail will soon be brought to Bihar for remand and further action will be taken. He said that involvement of 17 to 20 criminals has been revealed in the robbery at Tanishq Showroom at Ara on March 10, 2025 so far. 15 of them have been arrested while one was killed in police encounter and the police are conducting raids to arrest the rest criminals including the receiver.

The ADG said that after carrying out the robbery of over Rs. 10 crores in Tanishq Showroom at Ara, the criminals fled to other states to escape arrest. During that time, some of them also changed their appearance to escape arrest. Despite, the criminals could not escape and were arrested. The ADG further said that after robbery, most of criminals fled away to Haryana, Chhatisgarh, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Karnataka. Some of them even went to Manali and had fun. The money obtained after robbery was spent like water. About 10 mobile phones were purchased and they used the money in travelling by plane.

He added that at the same time, a criminal named Sumit alias Prince alias Pagla got his head shaved to hide his identity after going to Murzapur. His picture was shared on Insstagram. In it, he was seen wearing the looted gold chain with a friend. However, he was arrested from Raigarh in Chhattisgarh. He stated that after the robbery the miscreants were changing their hide-outs frequently. Despite, 15 criminals were arrested. The main culprit of the robbery Chunmun Jha was killed in a police encounter while two miscreants were arrested after being shot at in a police encounter while trying to escape with the jewelries after the incident.
