THREE YEARS RIGOROUS IMPRISONMENT FOR MOLESTATION
Additional District and Session Judge VI cum Special Judge POCSO, Bhabhua Civil Court, Ashutodh Kumar Upadhyaya awarded three years rigorous imprisonment to Amit Kumar Prajapati 27 son of Radheshyam Prajapati of Darauli village under Durgawati police station in Kaimur district and also slapped a fine of Rs. 20,000 on him under section 354 IPC and section 8 of the POCSO Act. The court also ordered the District Legal Service Authority to give the victim Rs. 25000.
BHABHUA (RNI) Additional District and Session Judge VI cum Special Judge POCSO, Bhabhua Civil Court, Ashutodh Kumar Upadhyaya awarded three years rigorous imprisonment to Amit Kumar Prajapati 27 son of Radheshyam Prajapati of Darauli village under Durgawati police station in Kaimur district and also slapped a fine of Rs. 20,000 on him under section 354 IPC and section 8 of the POCSO Act. The court also ordered the District Legal Service Authority to give the victim Rs. 25000.
Special Public Prosecutor, POCSO, Shashi Bhushan Pandey said that a teenage girl had gone to the field on the village in the morning to attend call of nature on September 2, 2019 when a youth Amit Kumar Prajapti caught her and also molested. When she raised alarm, he escaped from the scene. The girl narrated her woes after coming home and a named FIR was lodged with the police under Durgawati police station against Amit Kumar Prajapati on the statement of the father of the girl.
After hearing both the parties, the ADJ VI convicted Amit Kumar Prajapati and awarded three years rigorous imprisonment and also slapped a fine of Rs. 25000 on him. He had to undergo two months extra imprisonment under both the sections separately in case he failed to pay the fine.
