At a time when communal hatred is prevailing in the country, these three places in Bhojpur district may be pioneer of communal harmony where people of both the communities worship and prayer together in peace and with mutual harmony. Amidst the Parliamentary elections in the country on the cards, the message of love and sympathy for all religions give some respite from hatred. In Shahpur of Bhojpur district, Hindu and Muslim communities together pray for prosperity and brotherhood and this tradition has been going since long. In fact, Shah Lakkar Baba’s tomb in Shahpur Nagar Panchayat, Lakhinath Baba’s Chhoti Mathia and Vrindavan Baba’s Badi Mathia have tied the Shahpur into the thread of unity. People say that worship and prayer are still performed here together and these three religious places are an example of communal unity. Former Chief Councilor, Shahpur Nagar Panchayat Vijay Kumar Singh said that unity in diversity is the identity of our country. Swami Vivekanand used to say that the beauty of a garden where there are different types and colours of flowers is amazing. The elders had said that these three religious places have been gifted in the form of a garden of religious harmony and love. This religious unity and harmony is our feature due to which we can say that we are proud of the culture of India.

Ward Councilor, Sanjay Chaturvedi said that all religions have given messages to adopt goodness and shun evils. In all religions have preached and advised to pratice truth, kindness, non-violence, honesty, love, peace and cooperation with one another. If we understand the religion completely in true sense, there will be no doubt in our mind at all.  Besides, we also have to understand our limits. We must always be careful that our action does not hurt anyone’s religious sentiments. He said that at present human service is the biggest religion which is very important for the unity and integrity of the country.
