THREE POLICE PERSONNEL INJURED IN BRICK BAT IN BHOJPUR VILLAGE AFTER A CLASH OVER PLAYING OF CASTE BASED SONGS
Two groups clashed and pelted with stones on one another over playing caste based songs during immersion of idols of Goddess Durga in the late evening on October 14, 2024 in which three police personnel were injured and a private police vehicle was also damaged at Salempur village under Dhobaha police station in Bhojpur district.
ARA (RNI) Two groups clashed and pelted with stones on one another over playing caste based songs during immersion of idols of Goddess Durga in the late evening on October 14, 2024 in which three police personnel were injured and a private police vehicle was also damaged at Salempur village under Dhobaha police station in Bhojpur district. The injured police personnel were admitted to the Ara Sadar Hospital. The injured were identified as Siya Ram Dubey 55, Yogendra Singh 54 and Rohit Kumar 24. All of them are posted at the Dhobaha police station.
Injured Siya Ram Dubey said that they were on duty during idol immersion in the evening on October 14, 2024 and the members of Durga Puja Committees were going for the immersion of Goddess Durga. Meanwhile, some of the played a caste based song. The members of another group fired up and objected playing of caste based songs but no one paid heed to the objection. At this both the groups clashed and started brick batting. When the police personnel tried to intervene, they also pelted with stones on them in which three police personnel were injured and some villagers were also injured. On information, the SHO Dhobaha police station Sanjeev Kumar along with police force rushed to the spot and hushed up the matter. The police also detained six persons in this regard for interrogation.
