Two persons including a woman were killed when their motorcycle collided head-on with a speeding vehicle near a Petrol Pump on Ara-Buxar main road under Shahpur police station. The deceased were identified as Ajit Kumar 31 son of Mukhlal Ram a retired school teacher and a resident of Virpur village under Shahpur police station and his mother Raj Kumari Devi 55.
Ajit Kumar along with his mother Raj Kumari Devi and father Mukhlal Ram had come to Shahpur on motorcycle where Mukhlal Ram went to the bank to withdraw money and Ajit Kumar with his mother Raj Kumari Devi proceeded to Ara to buy medicines and when he reached near the petrol pump on Ara-Buxar main road under Shahpur police station, a speeding vehicle collided head-on with the motorcycle killing both the son and the mother on spot. Even the vehicle overturned on the road though the driver escaped from the scene.
In another incident, one youth was killed while another injured when a speeding truck collided their motorcycle near Narayanpur village under Koelwar police station on Koelwar-Doriganj Highway. The deceased was identified as Ritik 20 son of Rajendra Rai of Semara village under Badahara police station while the injured was identified as Atul son of Sayanarayan Pandey of the same village. .
Ritik had gone to Koelwar to drop his friend Atul there. Atul is a medical representative in Rachi in Jharkhand. When they were going to Koelwar, a speeding truck from Babura dashed their motorcycle from behind near Jamalpur-Narayanpur village on Koelwar-Doriganj highway. As a result, Ritik came under the wheel of the truck and was killed despite wearing the hamlet and his friend Atul was badly injured.
As the news spread, the villagers and local residents became agitated and blocked the Koelwar-Doriganj highway and paralyzed movement of vehicles. They burnt tyres on road and raised slogans against the district administration. The blockade could be lifted after much effort of the police officials.
