THREE MISCREANTS ARRESTED, POLICE STILL CLUELESS ABOUT FIVE MISCREANTS IN THE MURDER OF KATIB

ARA------------------------Bhojpur police recovered body of a ‘katib’ from a pond filled with hyacinth at Khetadi Mohalla under Ara town police station and brought it to the Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem. The deceased was identified as Sushil Kumar Srivastava 35. Later the police arrested one miscreant Md Kamaluddin in this regard from his house at Navinagar at Aurangabad while under mounting police pressure anther miscreant Md Akbar surrendered in the Ara civil court and was sent to jail under judicial custody. Later the third miscreant Md Ashique of Khetadi Mohalla under Ara town police station also surrendered in the Ara Civil Court and was sent to jail. Police are still conducting raids to arrest the rest five miscreants in the kidnapping and murder of the ‘katib’.

SHO Ara town police station said that Sushil Kumar Srivastava dealt in real state and he was going to Dhanupura from his house at Girija Mor under Nawada police station and was kidnapped midway and when he did not return, his younger brothern Prakash Gaurav lodged an FIR with the police under Ara town police station on July 7, 2023 regarding kidnapping of his brother and requested safe recovery of his brother. After institution of FIR, the police swung into action. Under mounting police pressure, Md Akbar surrendered in the Ara civil court and was sent to the jail. The police following electronic surveillance, recovered body of the ‘katib’ Sushil Kumar Srivastava from a pond filled with hyacinth at Khetadi Mohalla under Ara town police station. The SHO stated that the CCTV footage showed that at least eight miscreants had kidnapped Sushil Kumar Srivastava.

Sources said that the prima facie of the case is said to be money dealing for land. The SHO said that Rs. 50,000 for land is said to be cause behind the incident. He said that kidnapping Sushil Kumar Srivastava from near Dhanpura, the miscreants kept him in a room and called his brother Prakash Gaurav and the sister to part with Rs. 50,000 otherwise he would be killed. The nephew of Sushil Kumar Srivastava somehow managed Rs. 10,000 and reached the fixed spot at Khetadi Mohalla and requested the kidnappers to meet his maternal uncle after giving Rs. 10,000. The kidnappers did not allow him to see his maternal uncle though they allowed him to call on mobile. On mobile, he was said to arrange Rs. 40,000 by 8pm the same day. When the family members managed Rs. 40,000 and called the mobile was switched off. At this, the family members went to the police station and lodged an FIR of kidnapping. After Md Akbar surrendered in the court, the police contacted him who told the police that Md Kmaluddin escaped to Aurangabad. The police chased and arrested Kamaluddin from Navinagar in Aurangabad. The SHO said that Md Akbar with the help of Kamaluddin killed Sushil Kumar Srivastava and threw the body into the pond.

Younger brother of the deceased, Prakash Gaurav said that Sushil Kumar Srivastava had borrowed Rs. 50,000 from Md Akbar for the registration of land and he was demanding his money when the registry of the land was not done and the ‘katib was kidnapped and murdered after he did not return the money.
