THREE LIQUOR SMUGGLERS ARRESTED
Sleuths of Buxar Excise Department arrested three liquor smugglers including a dismissed police man at Chausa-Karmnasha Check Post on Bihar-Uttar Pradesh border in the late night on March 5, 2023 when they were on way to Purnia from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh with the Indian Made Foreign Liquor.
Buxar, 6 March 2023, (RNI): Sleuths of Buxar Excise Department arrested three liquor smugglers including a dismissed police man at Chausa-Karmnasha Check Post on Bihar-Uttar Pradesh border in the late night on March 5, 2023 when they were on way to Purnia from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh with the Indian Made Foreign Liquor. The arrested liquor smugglers were identified as Vishesh Kumar Singh of Ramnagar village under Maranga police station in Purnia, Anish Kumar of Mahpur village under Tarapur police station in Munger and Devanand Prasad of Pandey Patti under Muffassil police station in Buxar district. The police seized two litre of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and 400 ml country made liquor and 500 ml cane bear from their possession.
Check-Post-in-charge Dilip Kumar said that Vishesh Kumar Singh told him first of all that he was in Bihar police but when interrogated, he revealed that he was suspended on October 20, 2021 when he was caught in inebriated state during election duty and later he was dismissed from the service. After his dismissal, he started liquor smuggling.
It may be said that Buxar has become hub of intoxicant smuggling. This illegal activities are going on with impunity in Shanti Nagar, railway station, Sugar Mill, Jyoti Chowk, Quila Maidan, Syndicate Canal, Karpuri Thakur Law College areas under Buxar town police station and P C College, Nadaw Panchayat, Jagdishpur Panchayat other areas under Buxar Muffassil police station.
