THE GANGES IS THE GIVER OF ENJOYMENT AND SALVATION—ACHARYA BHARAT BHUSHAN PANDEY

ARA (RNI) Under the joint aegis of Sri Sanatan Shaktipeeth Sansathanam and Sanatan-Sursari Seva Trust, a one day programme was organized at Friends’ Colony today to mark the Ganga Dussehara. Acharya Bharat Bhushan Pandey presided over the meeting and Dr. Satya Narayan Upadhayaya inaugurated the programme. The people offered Panchdeva Puja and also worshiped the Bhuvanapawani Bhagwati Ganga.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Satyanarayan Upadhayaya said that Ganga Dussehara is celebrated on the tenth day of Hasta Nakshatra of Shukla Paksha of Jyeshtha month. In this yoga, bathing in the river Ganga or remembering and worshiping the Ganga removes ten sins. Describing the Ashwamedha Yagaya of King Sagar, he gave an interesting description on the incident of Gnaga coming to the earth. He also described the devotion to the Ganga of Maithili Kokil Vidyapati Ji, he said that he used to descent from the peak of makeup and dive into the ocean of devotion.

Dr. Acharya Bharat Bhushan Ji Maharaja said that Ganga water is actually Brahma Drava. He added that Srimann Naraya Himself appears in the form of Ganga and provides worldly and beyond worldly pleasures and salvation to all of us and renders blessing to the living beings. The date of Dussehara removes the sins committed carelessly or unknowingly through the five senses of knowledge and five sense of action. He added that it is important to save every drop of water, to plant five new tresses every year and be ready to protect nature and environment. The time has come to be sensitive and alert towards to maintain environmental equilibrium.

Acharya further said that the kind of directionless in the name of development and the kind of inertia that is being practiced in the name of comfort and convenience is fatal for the entire nation. Man can remain safe only protecting forests, mountains, rivers cattle etc. the coming generation can flourish. A campaign for water conservation and cleanliness was started by contacting every household on this subject. He said that public awareness campaign will be run in Ara town for next two months and Bhojpur district for six months.  

Pandit Madheshwar Nath Pandey welcomed the guests while Narvedhshwar Upadhayaya extended vote of thanks. Jay Prakash Tiwari, Pt. Braj Kishore Pandey, Pt. Ajay Mishra, Vinod Dubey and others also expressed views on the occasion. Later a committee was formed for public awareness campaign.
