STUDENTS ARE FORCED TO PASS THROUGH THE WATERLOGGED PATH UNDER THE BRIDGE ON NH

Ara, 7 July 2023, (RNI): After summer vacation, all schools reopened in Bhojpur district but the attendance in schools is very poor due to water logging or en-route to schools or other reasons though the teachers reach schools on time daily and Bihiganj Primary School in Bhojpur district situated on Ara-Buxar main road is not exception.

Almost all the teachers reached the Primary School at Bibiganj on time daily but the attendance of students is poor. It is not that kids do not wish to go to school but they and even their parents are reluctant owing to water logging en-route to the school. With the opening school, rainy season started and the rain water created a lot of problems for the children, their parents and even the patients. Children have to go to their school passing under the bridge and the patients have to reach Health and Wellness Centre wading through the rain water logged on road under the bridge and there is possibility of a manor accident sooner or later if no action is taken immediately to drain out the rain water or make alternative arrangement.

The children of Bibigann and Chakiya villages come to their school through th flowing water under the bridge and there is all possibility of a major accident while crossing the NH due to which the parents refrain from sending their children to school crossing the NH. At the time construction of NH, people of the area had demanded to make underpass and resorted to agitation and their agitation was called off only after the then SDO Vaibhav Srivastava assured to fulfill their demand but the government deceived them and no underpass was constructed. The Primary School and the Health and Wellness Centre are located on the other side of the NH and so the children and the patients are forced to go from below the NH which is waterlogged and this path is also not safe. Purnendu Pandey, a teacher of the Primary School said that the children are forced to come to school passing the path under the bridge on NH. He said that a little rain fills the way with water and the children have a lot of problem in coming to school risking their lives.

Since Health and Wellness Centre is situated near the school, patients also come here after wading through waterlogged way under the bridge on NH. It is just the beginning of the rains, when it rains more, who can say about the children, even the elders and patients will face a lot problems.
