STOLEN ASHTDAHTU IDOLS RECOVERED

Ara, 26 July 2023, (RNI): Bhojpur police recovered three ashtdhatu idols of lord Ram, lord Laxman and Goddess Sita from near a bush at Chhotaki Dharmpura village under Ara Muffasil police station in Bhojpur district though the thieves are still at large. The idols were packed in a yellow colour plastic bag and were hid behind a bush in the village. Some miscreants had stolen three ashtdhatu idols of lord Ram, lord Laxman and Goddess Sita from a temple Chhotaki Dharampura village under Ara Muffassil police station three months ago. An FIR was lodged with the police under Ara Muffassil police station on the statement of the priest of the temple Nand Kishore Pandey.

Bhojpur SP Pramod Kumar Yadav said that the priest of the temple went to his house after offering prayer in the night on May 8, 2023 and when the priest opened the temple in the morning, the idols were found missing. The matter spread like wild fire in the village and an FIR was lodged with the police in this regard. The SP further said that the temple is about 100 years old and thieves had stolen idols twice about 20 years ago.
