A speeding sand laden vehicle crushed to death a retired Sub-Inspector near Keshwav Regal Hotel in Piro when he was returning home from a marriage ceremony on foot. The driver escaped with the vehicle after the incident.

ARA-----------------------------A speeding sand laden vehicle crushed to death a retired Sub-Inspector near Keshwav Regal Hotel in Piro when he was returning home from a marriage ceremony on foot. The driver escaped with the vehicle after the incident. The deceased was identified as Kameshwar Singh of Mahurahi village under Dhangai police station. He was retired from Bihia police station in January 2023. The recovered the body and brought it to the Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem. As the news spread, irate villagers blocked the Bihia-Bihata State Highway and paralyzed movement of vehicles. They were demanding compensation for the deceased family and arrest of the driver of the vehicle. The blockade could be lifted only after positive response of police officials.
Kameshwar Singh had gone to his relative to attend a marriage ceremony at Dev village under Sikarhatta police station in Bhojpur district. He was returning home on foot when a sand laden vehicle dashed him from behind near Keshawa Regal Hotel and killed him on spot. Later the driver escaped with the vehicle.
