SIX PERSONS KILLED WHILE OVER A DOZEN INJURED

Six persons including five women were killed in two different incidents at two different places in Bhojpur district on March 31, 2024.

ARA (RNI) Six persons including five women were killed in two different incidents at two different places in Bhojpur district on March 31, 2024.

Four persons including three women were killed while over a dozen persons injured when a Pick-Up overturned on the road near Rani Sagar village under Shahpur police station in the afternoon today. All the deceased were farm labourers and were returning from Madhopur village after working in a field. Police recovered the bodies and brought them to the Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem and admitted the injured there. The doctor referred three of the injured to the Patna Medical College and Hospital in precarious condition. The deceased were identified as Ram Dulari Devi 50 wife of Shiv Kumar Ram of Chaugai village under Murar police station, Mangani Devi 50 wife of Naga Ram and Sita Sundari wife of Rangun Ram of Dafadihari village in Buxar district and Saroj Kumar Ram 30 of BC Khurd village under Dinara police station in Rohtas district.

One of the injured Ramesh Kumar Ram said that about 20 persons including women had gone to Madhopur for harvesting. In the late night they were returning home in a Pick-Up van. Meanwhile, the driver lost control over the steering near Belauti village on Ara-Buxar NH-922 and the vehicle overturned on the road in which four persons including three women were killed while over a dozen persons were injured.

In another incident two women of a family were killed while a youth was injured when a speeding truck collided head-on with a motorcycle at Dusadhi Mor near Bhagalpur Shiv temple under Piro police station on Bihia-Bihata State High way in Bhojpur district today. The drier escaped from the scene leaving the vehicle behind. The deceased were identified as Sushila Devi 45 wife of Pintu Kumar Sah and Rinki Devi 36 wife of Kamlesh Sah of Jagdishpur Pathak village under Piro police station. Irate villagers blocked the road near Dusadhi Mor and paralyzed movement of vehicles for about two hours. They burnt tyres on road and raised slogans against the district administration. They were demanding compensation for the families of the deceased and arrest of the truck driver. The blockade could be lifted after positive response of the police officers and the police recovered the bodies and brought them to the Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem.
