SEXAGENARIAN STABBED TO DEATH, DAUGHTER-IN-LAW INJURED

SASARAM----------------------------One sexagenarian was stabbed to death at Dharmagat Parasi village under Karakat police station in Bhojpur district. The miscreant also attacked the daughter-in-law of the deceased and also injured her. The villagers admitted the daughter-in-law to the Godari Primary Health Centre but the doctor referred her to the Sub-Divisional Hospital after first Aid. The police rushed to the spot and started investigating the matter. Old enmity was said to be the cause behind the incident. The deceased was identified as Lorik Singh son of late Nagina Yadav of Dharmagat Parasi village while the injured was identified as Dinki Devi 32 wife of Indal Singh. Later the police recovered the body and brought it to the Sasaram Sadar Hospital for postmortem. A named FIR was lodged with the police under Karakat police station against Pappu Singh son of late Kameshwar Singh of the same village. Police are investigating the matter and also conducting raids to arrest him.

Bigramganj Circle Inspector Sher Singh Yadav said that Pappu Kumar had an old enmity with the family of the deceased. About eight years ago, the family members of the deceased had dragged and thrashed Pappu Kumar. An FIR was lodged with the police in this regard but the court had denied bail to Pappu Kumar and he had to surrender in the court and so he used to compel Laurik Singh, his son Indal Singh and his daughter-in-law Dinki Devi for the withdrawal of the case. Pappu Kumar also abused and threatened the family members on mobile and the family members had recording of his voice. When Laurik Singh did not yield, Pappu Kumar decided to eliminate him. Pappu Kumar came from Delhi and on September 13, 2024 evening, when Laurik Singh came from the market, he attacked on him with a dagger and killed him. When his daughter-in-law Dinki Singh came to her rescue, Pappu Kumar also attacked and injured her and escaped from the scene.

Villagers said that Pappu Kumar after committing crime, escaped through the paddy filed. They further said that Laurik Singh had married his son Indal Kumar to a beautiful girl Dinki Dei who was much discussed in the village. Pappu Kumar of the village was also fascinated by the beauty of Dinki Singh and had an eye on her. He always passed vulgar comment on her and was mad after her. He tried to outrage her modesty several times but her family members caught and thrashed and injured him. Two FIRs were lodged from both the sides and Laurik Singh had been in the jail. But after the case was over and Laurik Sing along with his family members shifted to Delhi where his son Indal Kumar worked in a private company. He along with family members had come to his village two months ago but Indal Singh after staying some days in the village returned to Delhi. Though the case was over but a case of attempt to outrage modesty of Dinki Devi persist and Pappu Kumar’s bail was cancelled and he had to surrender in the court and so threatened Laurik Singh and his daughter-in-law with dire consequences on mobile and the conversation was recorded. In the morning on September 13, 2024, Pappu Kumar reached Dinki Devi’s house returned after threatening her and her father-in-law with dire consequences. Later he once again came with dagger though the villagers persuaded him not to do anything untoward, and stabbed Laurik Singh to death and when his daughter-in-law Dinki Devi came to his rescue Pappu Kumar also attacked on her and injured her. The villagers said that Dinki Singh three daughters Shivani 9, Sakshi 6 and Srishti 3 and a four years old son.
