SEXAGENARIAN COMMITS SUICIDE
-Fed up with the taunts of being an exorcist a sexagenarian committed suicide by hanging himself to the rafters of the ceiling of his home at Kurmuri village under Sikarhatta police station in Bhojpur district.
Ara, 11 June 2023, (RNI): Fed up with the taunts of being an exorcist a sexagenarian committed suicide by hanging himself to the rafters of the ceiling of his home at Kurmuri village under Sikarhatta police station in Bhojpur district. The deceased was identified as Baijnath Ramani 65 son of late Devraj Ramani of Kurmuri village under Sikarhatta police station. Later the police recovered the body and brought it to the Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem. An FIR has been lodged with the police under Sikarhatta police station in this regard. Police are investigating the matter.
SDPO Rahul Singh said that he got information that an elderly person committed suicide. Police went there and recovered the body and brought it to the Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem.
Krishna Kumar, grandson of the deceased said that some villagers accused him of being exorcist and always beat him up whenever he went to them for some work. So he was suffering from depression. When he and his father Mukesh Ramani were not in the house, his grandfather locked inside a room and committed suicide by hanging to a rafters of ceiling with the help of rope.
