SEMINAR ON ‘KEEPING HUMANITY ALIVE’ IS ORGANIZED TO MARK THE RED CROSS DAY

ARA (RNI) Indian Red Cross Society, Ara Chapter organized programmes at the office of the Red Cross Society building at Ara and Upgraded Middle School, Udwantnagar to mark the World Red Cross Day today. Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC), Bhojpur cum Vice-President, Ara Red Cross Society Vikram Veerkar inaugurated the function while Dr. Vivekanand Yadav, Chairperson of the Ara Red Cross Society presided over the meeting.
Students of different schools of Ara took out a Cycle rally from the Ara Red Cross Society Building at Ara in the morning that passed through the main thoroughfares of the town and culminated at the Red Cross Building. DDC, Vikram Veerkar flagged off the cycle rally. The students held banners and posts related to voter awareness along with services to humanity on Red Cross day in their hands. Students of Sambhawana Residential High School, R. S Memorial School, Jagdeo Nagar, Balika Vidyalay, Jain Kanya Vidyalay, Bhagini Nivedita and Model Institute +2 schools participated in the cycle rally. A troop of Scout and Guide gave guard of honour to all the distinguished guests. The DDC unfurled the Red Cross Flag and students of Sambhawana Residential High School sang Red Cross Song.
The guests garlanded the portrait of founder of the Red Cross Society, Sir Henari Dunant and took oath to serve the ailing humanity. On the occasion, Central Cooperative Bank, Bhojpur donated RO water cooler of 120 litre to the Ara Red Cross Society. The DDC also inaugurated the Red Cross Seminar Building on the first floor of the Red Cross Building at Ara.
A seminar on ‘Keeping Humanity Alive’ was also organized to mark the occasion. Speaking on the occasion the DDC, Vikram Veerkar wished all the members of the Red Cross Society and said that the way world is continuously facing the horrors of war and natural and unnatural calamities, humanity is the most important thing in it which inspires us to serve the humanity. All of us should take inspiration from the life of Sir Henri Dunant and do something like this in our life. Service should be created which can protect the world, the country and the society. He said that this topic ‘keeping Humanity Alive’ is very important in today’s context.
Vice Chairman, Ara Red Cross Society, Dr. Rajesh Kumar threw light on the character of Sir Henry Dunant and said very important things regarding the foundation of the Red Cross.
President, Ara Red Cross Society, Dr. Vivekanand Yadav said that as humanity is being affected by the horrors of continuous war in the world, it is very important to protect it and to inculcate the love of man for man.
Deputy Patron, Dr. Archana Singh while inspiring the children, said that it is our responsibility to inculcate the belief in them that we must repay our debt by donating something towards the country, society and family in which we belong. She said that it is also very important in today’s context and this will help us in releasing the true spirit of service in our live also.
Dr. P Singh and Dr. Nirmal Kumar Singh also expressed their views and Nand Kishore Ram highlighted the activities of the Ara Red Cross Society from its inception to the present time through his songs. Dr. Vibha Kumari conducted the meeting and Dr. Dinesh Kumar Sinha extended vote of thanks.
