SASARAM (RNI) Member of the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Bench I, Biteshwar Nath Pandey withheld one month salary of the Station House Officer (SHO), Sasaram Town Police station in connection of his failure to appear the Municipal Commissioner, Sasaram Municipal Corporation despite issuance of billable and non-billable warrant against him and ordered the SHO to appear in the court physically on June 18, 2024 and submit his reply on show cause notice served against him in case No 21/2025 as to why not cognizance should be taken in a case of contempt of court Act 1971 against him and wrote to the Patna High Court for punishment.
It is worth mentioning here that this order was given in the case No. 21/2015 of Kalika Singh vs. Executive Officer/Municipal Commissioner, Sasaram Municipal Corporation. The Commission said that it should be noted that to ensure the presence of the Judgment debtor Municipal Commissioner Sasaram Municipal Corporation, a billable warrant vide letter No. 139 dated August 12, 2023 and again a non-billable warrant vide letter No. 177 dated September 20, 2023 were sent to the SHO, Sasaram Town police Station for the execution of the order of the Commission but the warrants were never executed despite having sufficient time. Subsequently, a show cause notice was sent to you on March 15, 2024 but no reply was given which is indicative of complete inaction towards police duty, laxity in the most important responsibility and blatant disobedience. This also comes within the ambit of clear contempt of the court’s order. Therefore, the commission ordered the SHO to be present physically in the court on June 18, 2024 and submit his reply on the show cause.
