ARA----------------------------The robbers who had looted jewelries of gold, silver and diamond worth about Rs. 10 crore from the Tanish Showroom near Gopali Chowk under Ara town police station on March 10, 2025 were themselves robbed of the booty and they managed to get only a part of the booty. Many shocking revelations were made during interrogation of the arrested miscreants. As per information, the sand mafias had robbed the jewelries from the robbers who had looted them from the Tanishq Showroom.
After robbery at the Tanishq Showroom, the robbers who were fleeing with the booty were robbed of their jewelries by the Sand Mafias and they were let off. The robbers somehow managed to get a part of the booty. After the robber, two of the fleeing miscreants were caught by the police after an encounter near Babura and two bags full of jewels, two country made pistols, 10 live cartridges, one motorcycle and a looted rifle were recovered from them. Two bags were recovered from the arrested Vishal and Kunal which contained some of the looted jewelries. However, a large part of the booty was with the other criminals. While fleeing, the robbers were crossing the river Ganga in a boat which belonged to the Sand Mafia who forcibly snatched a large part of the remaining booty from them but some jewelries were left with the robbers. During interrogation, the robbers confessed that while they were running towards Chhapara, they boarded a boat to cross the river Ganga where the Sand Mafias wrested the jewelries from them. The police were also surprised after this revelation. The police had to recover the stolen jewelries so they started searching for the Sand Mafias. After several days, the police got concrete information about the involvement of Sand Mafias of Maner’s Diara area in this case.
Police raided Maner and arrested some criminals and recovered many jewelries from them. Police are still conducting raids to arrest other sand mafias.
