ROHTAS SP RAIDED THE RED LIGHT AREA AND RESCUE 41 GIRLS

SASARAM (RNI) Rohtas SP Roshan Kumar conducted raid at the Natwar Bazaar red light area of Rohtas district in the morning and 41 teenage girls were rescued and four boys were freed from the clutches.

All the rescued girls have been brought to the Child Welfare Committee at Sasaram. The SP said that the girls were brought from Chhatisgarh and other states for dance and singing programme in the wedding ceremonies. Their age is being verified. He said that girls from Bihar, Chhattisgarh and other states were brought here to sing and dance. The action was taken on the basis of secret information. People from Bachpan Bachao Samiti were also involved in it. The SP said that they were brought here by luring them.

The SP further said that in many areas of Rohtas district including Natwar, Beda, Bishrampur and others, brokers lure girls from other states and bring them here. They are also forced to drag into the flesh trade on the pretext of dance programmes. He said that the police are investigating from all the angles. During the raid, many dancers fled from the spot and the police are searching for them. He said that 41 girls from Chhattisgarh are rescued while four boys from Rohtas were freed whereas five accused from Bihar who are in the contact with the girls’ families have been arrested from the spot.

The SP stated that the accused used to give a part of the money earned by the girls from the parties, to their families. Currently all of them are being interrogated. Child Welfare Committee member Gagan Pandey said that all the girls came from poor families and due to that the operators lured the girls with money. Some girls were bought for Rs. 50,000 and some for Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 40,000. Slowly all the girls got trapped in this quagmire because of money.
