SASARAM---------------------------Rohtas police arrested 18 miscreants and recovered firearms from them. Later the police sent them to jail after interrogation. The arrested miscreants were identified as Banarasi Prasad Singh, Manish Kumar of Takiya Ward o 11 under Sasaram town police station, Upendra Kumar of Rupi under Dinara police station in Rohtas district. Umesh Kumar Singh of Garigawa under Dinara police station in Rohtas district, Shekhar Yadav alias Ramesh, Ajit Kumar, Bajrangi Kumar of Chaukhandi Chitauli under Sasaram town police station, Aman Kumar of Tukri under Agrer police station, Shyam Bihari Singh of Badhiyabag Ward No 10 under Sasaram town police station, Rajesh Kumar Rai of Maluni under Kargahar police station in rohtas district, Durgesh Kumar Singh of Bahoranpur under Kochas police station in Rohtas district, Duniya Lal Singh of New Area under Sasaram town police station, Abhinandan Kumar, Sri Niwas Singh, Dhan Jee Kumar of Takiya Ward No 11 under Sasaram town police station, Ram Gopal Tiwari of Gandhi Nagar under Sasaram town police station, Krishna Kumar of Civil Line under Sasaram town police station, Deepak Kumar of Belavi under Darigaon police station in Rohtas district. The police recovered two pistols with magazines, 24 live cartridges, one blank cartridge, 750 litre of India Made Foreign Liquor, 16 Android mobiles, one keypad mobile, four motorcycles, one Scorpio bearing registration number BR 24AJ 0011 and Rs. 75000 in cash.
Rohtas SP Roushan Kumar said that two groups had exchanged fire near Mannat Vatika at Takiya locality on March 17, 2025 night under Sasaram town police station in Rohtas district. On information, he formed a police team under the SDPO-1 Sasaram that acting on a tip off, arrested 18 miscreants and seized two pistols with magazines, 24 live cartridges, one blank cartridge, 750 litre of India Made Foreign Liquor, 16 Android mobiles, one keypad mobile, four motorcycles, one Scorpio bearing registration number BR 24AJ 0011 and Rs. 75000 in cash.
The SP said that the reason behind the exchange of fire was land dispute in between Banarasi Prasad Singh and his associates and Chandrashekhar Singh and his aides of Takiya Ward No 11 under Sasaram town police station in Rohtas district. He said that 11 aides of Banarasi Prasad Singh and 7 aides of Chandrashekhar Singh and sent them to jail after interrogation. A named FIR was lodged with the police under Sasaram Town police station in this regard and the police are investigating the matter. He said that the police are also trying to identify other miscreants.
