ROADS WIDENED, PROBLEM PERSISTS

After the ongoing anti-encroachment drive at Bikramganj in Rohtas district, the width of the roads increased on all the routes upto all dividers at Tenduni Chowk but the problem remains the same. Buses en-route to Jharkhand and fruit carts parked on Dumraon roads. The buses to Bihia and Patna parked on the Ara road while on the other buses to Dehari and Sasaram are also parked as usual. ROADS WIDENED, PROBLEM PERSISTS

RAJIV NAYAN AGRAWAL

SASARAM---------------------After the ongoing anti-encroachment drive at Bikramganj in Rohtas district, the width of the roads increased on all the routes upto all dividers at Tenduni Chowk but the problem remains the same. Buses en-route to Jharkhand and fruit carts parked on Dumraon roads. The buses to Bihia and Patna parked on the Ara road while on the other buses to Dehari and Sasaram are also parked as usual. Fruits carts and others also stand illegally on roads as before. The autos parked near the Sulabh toilets at Dehari road randomly are becoming the main cause of traffic jam.

On Sasaram road, the handcarts, buses and autos parked haphazardly and in such situation how will the dream of making Tenduni Chowk encroachment free come true? And no one has the answer to this big question. The Sub-Divisional Officer, Upendra Pal said that efforts are being made to make Tenduni Chowk encroachment free and is slowing taking shape. When everything is completed, the Tenduni Chowk will be surrounded completely and no vehicle could be parked across the boundary. He advised to wait with some patience and see what happens next.

The former Chairman of the town, Rananwaaz Khan worte a letter to the Rohtas District Magistrate complaining that the ‘Vajukhana’ of a mosque building has been demolished in the name of encroachment and as a result a particular section of society is facing problem. He said that in his letter that many such places and buildings are there whose measurements have not been marked deliberately or have not been demolished even after marking and this is enough to expose the face of the town administration. EO Manoj Kumar said in this regard that those places or buildings which have been identified will be certainly demolished but there are some places or buildings which need some time and so he has provided time to them.

An agency of Hero Motorcycle is at Ara where water logging is a perennial problem particularly during rainy season. Purendu Singh alias Prem Singh, owner of the Hero Motorcycle agency said that the problem still exists even after construction of drains. After a long wait, the drain from Ara road to Tenduni Chowk was constructed but people cannot get respite from water logging. The drain was spilled from North to South but water brims the drains around the years. As a result, the drain water litters on road forcing the people to waddle through the drain water.

The drain that has been constructed from the vegetable market to the mosque at Sasaram is built at a height of three feet from the main road and it may be imagined as to how the road water will go through the drain whereas the drain was constructed only three months ago when the government was taking oath and government did not pay heed to this shortcoming. Chairman Manoranjan Singh said that it is not possible to break the drain but efforts will be made to find an alternative solution so that the problem can be solved and hence whatever construction takes place, special attention will be given to all these things.
