BUXAR------------------------Additional District and Session Judge II, Buxar Civil Court, Bijyendra Kumar awarded rigorous life imprisonment to two Rameshwar Singh and Kanchan Singh and also slapped a fine of Rs. 1.5 lakh on each of them in connection with murder of Khunti Yadav, former Mukhia of Nadav Panchayat. The court also acquitted five persons for want of evidence against them.

APP Gopal Ram said that Khunti Yadav, former Mukhia Nadav panchayat and BSP leader and resident of Lalganj in Buxar district was returning his village Lalganj from Buxar on his Scorpio in the night on May 18, 2018. He was waiting at the railway crossing in the Scorpio as the gate was closed. Meanwhile, some miscreants came and asked him to open the door of the Scorpio. As he opened the window, the miscreants pumped bullets into his body and killed him on the spot. His son Yashwant Singh who was also in the vehicle was injured. An FIR was lodged with the police under Buxar Town Police station in this regard on the statement of Yashwant Singh son of the deceased. Land dispute was said to be the cause behind the incident.

After hearing both the parties, the ADJ II, Vijyendra Kumar convicted two persons Rameshwar Singh and Kanchan Singh and acquitted five persons for want of evidences against them. The awarded rigorous life imprisonment to Rameshawar Singh and Kanchan Singh and also slapped a fine of Rs. 50,000 on each of the under section 302 IPC. The also awarded 10 years imprisonment and slapped a fine of Rs. 50,000 on them under section 307 IPC and five year imprisonment and slapped a fine of Rs. 5000 on each of them under 27 Arms Act. The court said that they will have to spend six months additional time in jail in case they failed to pay fine. Later the accused were sent to Buxar Central Jail.

The APP said that in retaliation of murder Khunti Yadav, the main accused Chitranjan Singh was killed five years ago when he was returning his native village from the back door of the Buxar Civil Court. It was blamed that Chitranjan Singh had given a contract of Rs. 3 lakh and asked Dadan Chaudhary, Crown Chaudhary, Rameshwar Chaudhary and Dinesh to murder Khunti Yadav.  Chitranjan Singh had been in jail in this regard.
