RIGOROUS LIFE IMPRISONMENT TO FOUR PERSONS FOR MURDER OF AN EYEWITNESS

Additional District and Session Judge II, Ara Civil Court, Akhilesh Kumar Singh awarded rigorous life imprisonment to four persons, Brajesh Mishra, Mukteshwar Mishra, Raj Kishore Pal and Umashankar Mishra and also slapped a fine of Rs. 25,000 on each of them in connection with murder of a main witness in the murder of the former BJP State Vice President, Visheshwar Ojha.

Ara (RNI) Additional District and Session Judge II, Ara Civil Court, Akhilesh Kumar Singh awarded rigorous life imprisonment to four persons, Brajesh Mishra, Mukteshwar Mishra, Raj Kishore Pal and Umashankar Mishra and also slapped a fine of Rs. 25,000 on each of them in connection with murder of a main witness in the murder of the former BJP State Vice President, Visheshwar Ojha.

Public Prosecutor, Ara Civil Court, Nagendra Dubey some armed miscreants had shot dead Kamal Kishore Mishra, resident of Shahpur police station area in Bhojpur district when he was returning home with his father Sriman Narayan  from his field in the morning on September 28, 2018. An FIR was lodged with the police under Shahpur police station on the statement of Sriman Narayan in which he blamed that Kamal Kishore Mishra was a main eyewitness in the murder of the former BJP State Vice-President, Bisheshwar Ojha and so the miscreants killed him.

After hearing both the parties, the ADJ II awarded rigorous life imprisonment to four persons, Brajesh Mishra, Mukteshwar Mishra, Umashankar Mishra and Raj Kishore Pal. The court also slapped a fine of Rs. 50,000 on Brajesh Mishra while Rs. 25,000 on each of Mukteshwar Mishra, Umashankar Mishra and Raj Kishore Pal.

Earlier, the ADJ II had convicted the four miscreants after trial in connection with murder of Kamal Kishore Mishra, an eyewitness of the murder of Bisheshwar Ojha under section 302/34 IPC and also under 24 Arms Act on February 4, 2024.

It may be mentioned here that some armed miscreants had shot dead Kamal Kishore Mishra near his house at Sonbarasa village under Shahpur police station on September 28, 2018 when he had gone to bring fodder. Later Sriman Narayan Mishra father of the deceased lodged a named FIR against five persons Uma Shankar Mishra, Brajesh Mishra, Mukteshwar Mishra, Raj Kishore Pal and Kishun Mishra. Baby Devi wife of late Kamal Kishore Mishra said that it is a victory of justice. They have all faith in court. Rakesh Visheshwar Ojha added that the witnesses of the case should be given protection as one of the named accused in the murder is still on bail.
