RED CROSS DAY CELEBRATED WITH POMP
Red Cross Day was celebrated with zest in Ara. Hundreds of girls and boys of different schools, highlighting achievements of Sir Henry Dunant, took out a bicycle procession from the Red Cross Society, Ara branch that passed through the main thoroughfares of the town and culminated at the Red Cross Building today.
Ara, 8 May 2023, (RNI): Red Cross Day was celebrated with zest in Ara. Hundreds of girls and boys of different schools, highlighting achievements of Sir Henry Dunant, took out a bicycle procession from the Red Cross Society, Ara branch that passed through the main thoroughfares of the town and culminated at the Red Cross Building today. Dr. Vivekanand Yadav, chairperson, Red Cross Society, Ara branch, flagged the bicycle procession. Red Cross Flag was also unfurled on the campus of Red Cross Society Building and the members and children garlanded the portrait of Sir Henry Dunant and paid floral tributes to him.
A seminar on an International theme, “Every Thing We Do, Comes From the Heart” was also organized to mark the occasion. Former MLC Lal Das Rai, IMA District President, Dr. Kumar Jitendra, Vice-President, Ara Red Cross Society, Dr Rajesh Kumar Singh, patron Dr T P Singh and others expressed their views and exhorted the young generation to aware their volunteer and do humanitarian work with zest. Later a folk song was sung by Nand Kishore Singh based on whole activities since the inception of the Red Cross Society.
Ram Kumar Singh, A K Pandey, Triveni Prasad Singh, Sardar Gurucharan Singh, Dr Madan Mohan Dwiwedi, Rakesh Kumar Tiwari, D Rajan, Krishna Madhav Agrawal and others were present on the occasion. Ara Sudha Dairy managed lassi for the guests and the children and the HDFC and Bank of India distributed about 500 caps among the children. Blood was also donated on the occasion, informed the secretary, Ara Red Cross Society Vibha Kumari.
