QUACK CLAIMED TWO LIVES IN ROHTAS

SASARAM-------------------------Mother and her new born child were killed after a quack operated upon the pregnant woman at a private clinic. After the incident the quack doctor fled away from the scene. As the matter came to the knowledge of the family members, they and the local residents went on rampage and made much hue and cry in front of the gate of the hospital.

Reena Devi, daughter-in-law of Nawami Turaha of Balihar village of Suryapura block in Rohtas district was pregnant and the doctor at Primary Health Centre, Suryapura had examined her and referred her to higher centre. Meanwhile some brokers decoyed and admitted her in the Samarpan Clinic just 100 meter away from the Primary Health Centre, Suryapura near Bada Talab promising that all would be done at lowest cost. The doctor there operated upon her there in absence of electricity. The operation was allegedly done in the mobile light. When the condition of the patient deteriorated, the doctor referred her to the Patna Medical College and Hospital but the patient and her new born child died on way to the PMCH. As the news of their death came, the villagers and tuhe family members of the deceased became agitated and they went on rampage. On information, the SDPO Kumar Sanjay along with police force arrived at the spot and persuaded the agitating people and also promised to take action against the guilty. He said that a medical team performed postmortem of the body of the deceased. He further said that a medical team under the Civil Surgeon would visit the incident site and also verify the degree of the doctor. He added that the police had prepared inventory of the scattered goods at the clinic.
